The changes to the plot were actually quite welcome, because they did get the spirit of the whole thing (taking the piss out of metaphysics and theorteical physics and everything else in all it's splendour) rather than doggedly following the plot.
Ford Prefect's accent didn't get on my nerves. Neither did the heightened romance between Arthur and Trillian. And I adored the Vogons - if we're going to get destroyed, at least it's by a race which appreciates beaurocracy as much as we do.
And Marvin. Marvin! Oh, Alan Rickman was perfect... *sobs
