I am now the proud owner of two fabulous pencil skirts (!). The only problem are the waistlines, which are a trifle loose - getting the skirts in smaller sizes won't help, as then the rest of the skirt would be too small for me. This is the problem with skirts, I often find: even with the smaller sizes (ie size ten and below) the waists are always a bit loose and I never feel comfortable with a skirt that can slide around your waist as you walk. They're untrustworthy.

I could get them altered, I suppose.

[EDIT: there's a moral here and it's something to do with consistent corset wearing and waist training.]

Anyway - that's me on my clothing situation all done. The nice thing about the black skirt is that if/when (because my father is being especially adamant whilst my mother is slightly wavering) we go to Nigeria this year, I can ask the dressmaker to model the skirt/of the dress on the same design. As it's quite simple, she should be able to do it. If not, I guess I'll just have to dust off my sewing machine (and lube it up, and polish it, and shake it, and...).

I've just realised how little I seem to comment on my friends' journals. Rest assured: I do actually read them, and I still think you're a great bunch.
