Yes, yes, I know something monumental has happened. Either some dude with a higher quotient of melanin than average just got elected or some state that I only vaguely know has something to do with oranges has sort-of/possibly banned marriage between same-sex couples (geez...), or some Nigerian hoaxer turned out not to be bidding for Leeds/Liverpool football team.

I just don't get what all the fuss about this guy is. I mean, most of those things are hideous...

I did have many grand things to say about all my favourites, race, religion, politics and science, but I got sidetracked by someone's brief review of the Sex and the City movie (and her mentioning the $400 shoes) and have been regretting my addiction to lj ever since. But in short, it is rather nice that Obama has been elected, though I suspect he has (a tiny, eensy-weensy bit) to thank Sarah Palin for.

Speaking of which...

Hey America, do you think you can put her back in the fiery chasm from whence she came, or has she been out long for you to safely contain her? I just think I'd find the next four years a damn sight easier to bear if you could just do something about her. Preferably something... semi-permanent (I'm aiming to score some charitible-humanist points here!).
