Tomorrow morning I leave for Nigeria. Wish me luck. Whether I can keep up the polite facade when presented with my elders who are as determined as ever to scam their English relatives, is another matter.
I am very annoyed at present: I won't be able to take Bram Stoker's Dracula with me (too many books already) or Emma (I want to read more of Austen) and I have just discovered how good it is. Bugger that.
I think this is going to be the first trip (out of five so far) that I am going to be homesick for England - I am rarely homesick wherever I go, but today, making my way to the library for the last time, I saw that they were preparing a book sale this Saturday which I will not be able to go to as I am in Nigeria.
*sigh
It tolls for me.
Still, the good thing is that when I come back, I shall be able to speak Japanese and have lost a stone. Nigeria is good for some things, certainly not meeting with family again though.
