Just come back from my first Classical Greek class. At least I'm catching onto the alphabet pretty quickly so I'll take that as a good sign. The teacher is great - one of those who laugh at jokes only fellow scholars would understand and wears a clip on bow tie.

There are only two of us in the class - a friend of a friend who's also done Latin (my experience of which halts at Mass in my aunt's RC church...), but she isn't a show-off or anything which is comforting and at least I know her well enough to study with her in between lessons.
