I have decided to sign up for the auditions to join the NYT (National Youth Theatre).

'A disaster waiting to happen, I know...'

Here's the thing: anyone hoping to get an acting place has to prepare a speech from any play of their choice. My dilemma: what play? Of course, I'll have a look at Oscar Wilde because I'm guessing everyone will do Shakespeare *sighs* but a really unusual Shakespeare play wouldn't be bad, either. Like Titus Andronicus, which many call his worst play because everyone dies.

Perfect!

So, anyone got a good suggestion for a speech (must be under two minutes long and show a range of ability) from an 'unusual' play (I was about to say nothing from Hamlet because the central character seems to talk to himself so much, but then again, most of Shakespeares' characters did)? If so, raise your hand...
Mood:: 'contemplative' contemplative
Music:: Saves the Day: Freakish
