Well, the novella is finished. Third draft, in final format, ready to guzzle all my printer ink and paper (printed about half of it out today before the ink finished. It's so gratifying, in a really sad sort of way, lol...), so I'm off tomorrow to catch the before-school sales on... paper. Then I can send it off to my editor (and the moral of the story is, always be nice to your local librarian) and after that, the preliminary chapters to the agents I've discovered.

I've also had some feedback on the first part of the novel. Overall positive, actually very positive and gave me plenty of food for thought. Reassuringly, there are plenty of edits to be made (I don't know why, but editing feels so much better than writing something entirely original, to my pedantic soul, heh).

Good review for the comic so far and an invite to October's comic fest at Birmingham, which I'm not sure if I can make due to college, but we'll see.

I'd love to read it when that becomes possible man. The comic too.

Well the comic is easy does: http://theonlytwocomic.blogspot.com/

As for the novella that entirely depends on if I can get an agent interested in it, which will simply be the first step of many to it's possible publication!

Ah yes of course, I've seen most of that already. Capital.

As your proof reader (I've decided) I feel I really must point out that that is an extraneous apostrophe in your its. =D

And good luck!

Oh, and remember that it's when you've wallpapered your bedroom with rejection slips, then you can start hoping for a positive response.

Yup. I have, in fact, cleared a wall in my room especially for them. I plan to have a party for every one and welcome it as one does... a really welcome thing. Like a chocolate hedgehog.

Excellent, good to have a plan.

Did you get my revisions? Were they at all useful?

I've got a few more being inked, so they should be up in about a week or so.

That's great! Me too, I like editing better than writing.

It's funny when it comes to the point where you're like 'if I continue honing this paragraph, then I will not get any more of the story done'. At times like that, I wish you could just publish single, beautifully polished paragraphs and leave the rest to the reader's imagination.

Ah, this is beautiful. But I've been facing a different problem: When I want to add more details, and I do that, but then I realize that what I added broke the pacing, or disrupted the flow, and finally I decide to remove the addition!

Argh, how it hurts! Sometimes, that extra phrase is just so... good! It's enough to make one curse the muses... if I weren't so scared I'd be rendered unable to write anything at all.

BTW, I recently found a short sample of a new book called 'The Glass Books of the Dream Eaters' by GW Dahlquist which I found hugely entertaining (a pseudo-victoriana romp concerning mysterious scientific experiments) and I think you might like as well (as you liked JS&Mr.N as well).

Thank you for the rec! I'll see if I can find it in Brazil.

Haha- I think a large section of society has a fetish for editing pieces of writing. (Me, included.)

Oh, and good luck with the agent-search! :)

Thanks and keep up the good fetish, is all I can say. It should lead to many a wondrous page!
