Grr. How annoying is it when the convalescence of all my favourite webcomics takes place simultaneously. What else is there to do online (goes back to lasagnacat.com)?

heh the only one i ever read is the ever geeky "PhD comics" where the PhD bit stands for piled high and deeper. some of them make me chuckle but i don't know if you have to be in the research business to really get it. if you fancy a look it's

some of the most popular ones are quite good :)

Egad! How much of a geek am I (and rather proud of that too) - I actually cracked up laughing the first one I read.

Ripoff online Universities/Colleges are the worst, almost as bad as Christian fundamentalists who use the title 'Dr' to give their incoherant, illogical and frequently hateful rantings a more respectable appearance (we get a lot of these in Nigeria: when you actually do research as to where they got their PhD, it's usually from some hack Uni/online course/nowhere - they just thought they could get away with it, being a pastor and all *sighs*)

:D glad to be of service... my personal favourite is the weekly progress graph: http://www.phdcomics.com/comics/archive.php?comicid=124

or this one:

I remember reading an atricle about how "Dr" Gillian McKeith (as in c4's you are what you eat woman) bought her PhD from some bogus uni in america. Apparently her thesis was 12 pages or something ridiculous.

Nigeria? cool. My project student is Nigerian, she just got back from spending christmas there. She's been making me jealous with tales of seeing something called the sun. apparently it's warm. I wouldn't know, all it does here is rain!

i know what you mean though... the world just doesn't make sense... I mean, Jeremy Clarkson is a Dr of engineering (ok so he was given it rather than buying it but I wish someone would just give me a PhD!)
