It's taken a while, but here are the first two pages of the Captain Hamish comic. The guilt is slightly assuaged now I only have to wait for the writer to come up with something else.

Ooh, and one - rather pathetic - study of the main characters. I figured there'd be a regular cast of thousands for the ship, but these five will be the main operators, so to speak.

(And yes, I think I will use a computerised text for the comic rather than my own handwriting. It might actually be legible then)

Looking swell. I'll get back to you on the next bit (probably over the hols). Actual plotting this time, with any luck.

*rubs hands in anticipation*

I'm getting the hang of the ship now, so it might have more detail next time as well...

Frankly this is the very definition of squee. I envy the hell out of Maud for working with you, and you for working with Maud.

(I also have motivation to go write Rotem's blasted comic script now).

Yarr. Maud is a pretty good writer to work with (ie, far too lenient with my artist tendencies to go "roar! I have pens and I fully intend to hold the plot at ransom and do whatever the hell I want...!")- I'm looking forward to see what dastardly plots and perverted shenanigins she intends on putting the characters through.

I think the handwriting, which is perfectly legible, fits the overall aesthetic and ethos.

That's a relief. I tend to over-scrutinise my work, so it's nice to get some balanced opinions.

I'm also very pleased that you (read and) liked it!
