Been lj-hopping and came across this link about the 'moral values' issue at the crux of liberal/conservative voting from [livejournal.com profile] kmd . I'm sure half of you have already read something like it, but I found it very interesting.

You know, things like what happened on Saturday shouldn't surprise me considering the popularity of pre-pubescent tv shows like 'fonejacker'. Sometimes, I think we're like spoiled children - we've been given too much and don't really know what to do with it. Other times I think we're like scared children, unsure of that which we don't understand, given to physical responses to what we don't like rather than analysis.

Other times, I think we're just human. Which is a bit of a shame. Sometimes.

Very interesting article. It's interesting how difficult it can be to comprehend political opinion that's different to your own.

*nods*. Not just political: it's why I do get it when some atheists describe theism as a 'mental illness'. I mean, when someone believes something so fundamentally different from you, well, it does seem like they're ill. It's why I could never understand some of the people who write in the Telegraph. Are they being mean, ironic? Nope. They are just genuinely... wrong. As I am to them. Tres bizarrement.
