I always thought of them as over-sized scavengers, which is mistaken I now know. I generally hear about raptors hunting as packs, but never about T-Rex's (until this morning that is) which is why I did find it rather surprising.

And - you will laugh - it just never looked like a homebody type of dinosaur. Granted, you could say that about quite a few birds of prey today...

Well, any predatory species will scavenge if given the opportunity, chasing and failing to catch prey is a waste of rather expensive energy. Lions often take hyena kills instead of the other way around, for instance.

Meh.....you could say the same about Maiasaura, though....
