Just got back from my first jiu jitsu class and damn it, but I think I will need to get contact lenses after all.
It was a noble battle and at least I lost to a worthy adversary...
The jitsu was fun, actually, though it took me way to long to fully grasp all the moves etc. I'm surprised by how patient all my partners were with me, though that's probably part of the whole discipline thing (and really, I was so awful, even the instructors didn't know how to correct me properly *shakes head*)! Hopefully we'll get to practise more next week before we go all out on the falls and drops.
In the meantime, that's ten sit ups every morning from now on. At least my general flexibility wasn't too bad, though that was probably thanks to the ballet/dance exercises I like to do. Seriously need to do more of them as well, actually and maybe some weights every now and then.
And oh wow, Isao Takahata is doing a new film! Taketori Monogatari - one of the Japanese fairy tales I read when I was younger. How awesome is that? I do love me some Miyazaki but Takahata just works the most unbelieveable sort of magic every single time and it's always so original.
Further reason why I love the internet.
I definitely do not love banks, however. You know I've been upgrading my account since May and I still havem't received a chequebook (which I actually need to pay my rent)?
