I guess I'm a little stunned by the whole thing. Now that the American people have voted, there is nothing substantial in our press about Bush. It leaves you feeling a little dazed, I have to say: after seeing his image on the front page of just about every newspaper (except for maybe the Star) for the past couple of weeks and then to just get back to normal...

Well.

Just watched 'the 'L' word' two days ago. It was a very good episode (I thought) considering - the whole Jenny thing is annoying, and I much prefer the other story lines, but there you go.

I've been trying to find more about Julie Verhoeven. Why can't she just make a website like everybody else does? (grumbles) I can't get very much off the searches so I guess I'll just have to buy her book.

Someone asked me at lunch yesterday, what I thought about gays. As usual, one of my friends was kind of like "here we go" which pissed me off a little, because I used to always go on and on about gay rights and about how the Church should treat them with respect and love etc. I still don't quite get her reaction, because I'd only ever rant when amongst my friends, knowing that they'd be the best ones to understand what I'm trying to say, but there you go. Something silly to wind myself up over.

Anyway, I was being watched carefully by perhaps the biggest homophobe ever that I know (even my Father isn't that bad), so I had to tread my way carefully. In all seriousness, there is a reason behind every opinion, whether it's misinformation or past experiences, so I just tried to say that I wasn't going to hate anyone who was prejudiced of gays, but the discrimination is one thing that I wouldn't stand for. And it's true: crimes against the gay community have risen in London. I don't get it: we were getting all nice and tolerant by the end of the 90's and then suddenly, hello! It's almost 'vogue' to be a homophobic, mildly racist 'intellectual'.

...

The ironic thing is, that most of the more discriminate girls that I know, are the stereotypical straight girl who thinks that every gay man is her best friend. The hypocrisy in that is something which never ceases to stagger me.

Remembrance day yesterday.

Jenny *is* a tad annoying (more than a tad, actually), but I really liked the storyline between her and Marina. Or maybe I just feel particularly strong about it, because I was in a similar situation when I saw it first. That said, the whole series is just amazing. I only wish they would finally release it on DVD here, so that I can finally also see the episodes I didn't manage to download.

We're still waiting for the DVD release here as well. It really bugs me how the American sites talk about episodes which have already happened because I'm like "no! I want it to be surprise!". With most series', I couldn't care less, but this one has touched me particularly, similarly because I've experienced something like that as well.

Marina is one of my favourite characters and I think that the actress is simply amazing - she was on Cable a while ago for a programme they were doing about the 'exploding' gay culture in America. Shane is fabulous though, but it's a shame she's got herself tangled up with that mogul's wife...

Sorry for pissing you off, dude. You know I'm always mean. I agree with you, etc. Actually, I quite enjoy listening to you shock Elise. God, don'tcha just feel like throwing gay porn at her?

Don'tch worry honey: the annoyed mood comes with the depression. And it usually flees for the skies in a coupla days... (why am I speaking like this?)

And yes, I feel that way too. Only it wouldn't be very nice and I'm trying to get over my snooty bitch reputation.
