I've just listened to some clips of the latest Muse album, 'Black Holes and Revelations'.

...

Fine, I take it back. It's a good album *grits teeth* no, it's a brilliant album. It's very different, but in a way that still betrays the development of their musical sound. It's pretty dramatic, the modern equivalent to some of the grand finales of classical pieces, which may sound pretty pretentious, but I think is the best I can come to describing the way the music pans out.

So yeah. It's good.

And this ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxJnxIOW3l4 ) is pretty amusing too. Don't ask me how I found it, or it might just betray how sad I actually am...

Oh, and here's a gem I've just discovered on LJ: Rome 101 - http://lilith-morgana.livejournal.com/279023.html#cutid1. Oh so true and oh so funny.

OH GOD THE MUSE ALBUM! I'm sorry... I haven't bought it, I haven't even listened to it in totallity, but every song I've heard from it apart from 'Super Massive Blackhole' is an annoying peice of mod rock hell. I feel safe in saying that it's bad news. What happened to the spirit I saw in Origin of Symmetry? Showbiz? OH GOD WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO THEMSELVES.

Oh - and good luck for your results!

For me, Knights of Cydonia is the closest thing in that album to anything like their old sound, so I am quite fond of it. 'Supermassive Black Hole' is so incredibly out of it in terms of style and sound: it's so un-Muse, but it works.

But yes, I want the old sound back. Maybe they'll do a Feeder and get back on it in their next album...
