Actually, I've never been that ill before, but I have apparently 'seen' things which then, when I look at them a bit later with a tighter grip on reality, turn out not to be there. *shrugs - but then, those occasions were more to do with sheer tiredness and general 'in the corner of mine eyne' than depression or any other mental 'disorder'.

And the problem with background noise is that eventually it becomes a roar. Look at those creationists, for example. There were always weirdos who didn't think evolution was true, but then we liberal know-it-alls (and the entire scientific community) pretty much ignored them rather than doing our best to spread the 'light' (lol) and look at us now.

We do try and spread the light but they block US out. We teach Evolution theory and Darwinism in schools and we try and pressure them to teach it in their schools as more than just an *unproved theory*. The problem with this people is that they have no respect for science, and to be honest neither do we. We cannot possibly, as intelligent human beings, suggest that Creationism is an addequate a theory and scientifically proven and sound as Darwinism. It is political correctness that prevents us from rubbishing their supposed "equally valuable theories" which weren't considered one millionth as much as Darwins was, nor were they tested.

Isn't it just? If we use it enough, do you think it'll get put into the Oxford dictionary?

What I find hillarious is that even people like St Augustine who hadn't a clue about evolution wouldn't find Creationism a viable solution. He was one of those who found the Genesis creation story incorrect even in theological and linguistic terms, not to talk of scientific. I will see if I can find the link to his writing ont he subject again because even though it is long, I think you will find it very interesting and valuable.
