There was a pretty good article on Hellenic pagans in modern Greece in today's G2 section (I'm sure if I look for the site, I'll probably get a link to it).
Usually, the Guardian is hardly sympathetic to religious devotees full stop, but I think even they were impressed by what it is evidently a religion whose adherents fully immerse themselves into the background of the faith they have chosen. It was actually interesting to read another perspective on the 'Reconstructionist way', from people who are actually living in today's Greece, following yesteryear's religion, rather than from my beloved Sannion *hugs* who is very much of the New World, or from British pagans, who I tend to find either rather snobby or just plain unappealing (is the word disrespectful?)
Today's Candlemass assembly was the most painful and hideous thing I have had to witness in a while, now.
One of the un/fortunate things about being brought up in our (Igbo) culture is that regardless of what one believes, God is no laughing matter. Maybe that's why I really dislike evangelicalism of any kind, theistic or not (there's something that I find very disrespectful about it - how one is supposed to be joyful or enthusiastic about a particular thing when one shouldn't which then taints the truly joyful with banality and insincerity. In the case of atheistic evangelicalism, it's the way really important words are thrown around until all meaning and context has been lost) and also why stupid assemblies based on religious festivals irk me to a great extent.
Something very strange happened this morning. Well, not strange per se, but odd in the celluloid appearance that reality decided to adopt...
I came into school early today, hoping to get on with some chemistry coursework. Suddenly, in cycled Maja, with her hair swept back and her dark eyes sparkling...
... and all in slow motion. It was marvellous.
*worships*

Too many personal pronouns... oh well, I'm sure you get the idea.

As it is my lj, I think I can safely ramble about her general prettiness and her cute accent and her uncannily similar sounding family (dude, our mums are like clones with the whole 'can speak excellent English, but tend to fuck it up every now and again just for the hell of it'), and like ZOMG she's so smart! She studied at Oxford... *sighs*
*rambles some more*
