Very interesting.

http://www.wcg.org/lit/bible/epis/colossian.htm

(sannion, you might find it interesting because it deals with what ST. Paul actually felt about Hellenistic philosophy etc. It seems that over the millenia, a mistranslation... oh, never mind. You go and read it!)

http://www.geocities.com/bennoah1messiah/acover_page.htm - then there's that one as well, only for dorks like me who like reading up about language... but eurgh! Read their articles and there's way too much red, underlined text!

*rubs eyes* oooooooooh...

and on the same lines: http://paganizingfaithofyeshua.netfirms.com/intro_essenes_and_origins_of_cx_faith.htm

I think I'd better stop there, now.
Music:: Mape by that band...
Mood:: 'contemplative' contemplative

That is interesting. Collassians has always been one of my favorite of the epistles. I read a great book on the subject called the Collasian Syncreticism. His basic premise was that the people of Collassae had blended the Christian message with indigenous Jewish and Pagan traditions. I actually gleaned a lot of information about local Phyrgian practices and Apollo's oracular centers in Asia from the book.

*nods

Well I'm glad you found it interesting then. Currently, I am busy trying to find out more about Paul's own personal theology (from what we have in the epistles anyway) considering how much that has been based on his writings in the Church has been taken slightly out of context, which is why many liberal Christians disregard ST. Paul completely - a bit of a shame, I think.
